This year, Nobel Prize of Physics and Noble prize of Chemistry are on the two ends of the spectrum. The Physics Nobel prize is given for the discovery of Black Hole and for Chemistry given Genome editing technology CRISPR.
It’s an Infinite power of the human mind to go and discover something which 26000 light-years away from us. Each Light year means 9 trillion km ie 26000 X 9 X 1000,000,000,000 km away. Blackhole means where the force of gravity is so strong that it pulls the light also.
It’s the power of the human mind which can also go in minutest, minutest size of chromosomes and then sequence 3 billion base pairs. They measure it in a unit called Nanometers which 1 divided by 1000,000,000.
In Design Thinking, I call there are 2 competencies that are important which helps in ‘Connecting dot’ ie PERSPECTIVE which is about seeing the from distance and second is about EXPERTISE, which is about going in micro details. Today I am amazed to see the INFINITE CAPACITY of the Human mind to go traverse from 26000 lights years to Nanometers to solve the complex nature of the Universe.
